14 patients with unilateral lymphedema of the lower limbs were studied by HSA-Tc99m lymphoscintigraphy. A dynamic study of the pelvis were acquired with 1 frame / 30 sec for 15 minutes, while the patient continuosly exercised his feet. Lower limbs and abdominal static images were also obtained routinely after 15 min and 1 hour. ROIs were drawn on inguinal nodes and time/activity curves were calculated. The mean slope of the normal and affected side were 0,108 and 0,017 count/sec respectively. Although the visual analysis of lymphoscintigraphy usually suffices to diagnose lymphedema, objective reference values would help in mild cases of bilateral disease.
